Are you even a parent if you are not being constantly asked for snacks? As a mom of two energetic and active little girls, I am always handing out snacks throughout the day. These no bake energy bites are a yummy and healthy snack my girls love. A few years ago I was scouring Pinterest to find healthy snacks to give my girls when I stumbled upon a recipe for energy bites and thought hmm that sounds delicious. I have since perfected my own recipe adding on some of my own ingredients to make it even better. My kids ask to make these on a regular basis and love to help out in the kitchen. Best of all, it is a no bake recipe which makes it both quick and easy!

Did you know oats are some of the healthiest grains to eat? They contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which can help with weight loss, heart health, and prevent fat accumulation. Honey is another ingredient we often overlook for its health benefits, some of which include anti bacterial properties, antioxidants, and can help lower cholesterol.
Flaxseed is an ingredient I did not know about until a few years ago. There are a ton of health benefits that come along with flaxseed. Flaxseeds have a lot of nutrients, are high in Omega 3 fats, which can hep prevent cholesterol from developing in the heart and reduce artery inflammation, and is also a great source of fiber. Flaxseed is also high in lignans, which have been linked to lowering the risk of cancer.

Chocolate chips are not only delicious, but if you use dark chocolate in this recipe, there are some health benefits that can come along with it. Dark chocolate is a great source of antioxidants, can help lower blood pressure, and has been linked to heart health. While there are plenty of snacks out there for you to buy at the grocery store, making these energy bites can be both a fun activity and a healthy alternative to store bought snacks. I hope you try this recipe and your kids love it as much as mine do!
