Do you remember Valentine’s Day when you were a child? Making homemade Valentines for your friends. Exchanging candy and creating Valentine’s Day crafts in school. Classroom parties to celebrate the holiday. These are just some of the memories I have from Valentine’s Day when I was little. If I remember correctly it was a big deal or maybe it was a big deal because of my love of hearts and all things pink! Either way, Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to let your little ones know how much you love and appreciate them. Make them a Valentine, give them a Valentine’s Day gift or just love on them a little extra. Below are a few ideas for some Valentine’s Day crafts you can do with your little ones.
Love Bugs

A super simple craft to make is love bugs- all you need is some toilet paper rolls, some paint, pipe cleaners, paper, and some googly eyes. We loved creating these silly little creatures and the girls had even more fun giving each love bug a goofy name! Below is the craft kit we used for some of the decorations that went into the love bugs!
Heart Chain
Another easy craft to make is a heart chain- this doubles as a craft and holiday décor. We hung ours from our fireplace! The only material you need for this is some construction paper, scissors (a paper cutter makes it easier to cut even strips), and a stapler. Just make your hearts with two strips of paper and loop them together as show above.
Cotton Ball Heart Canvas

The next craft is similar to what we did in my The Perfect Little Picasso Paint Party post. The only materials you need are a canvas or cardboard, paint, a heart shape or painters tape to tape a heart in the middle of your canvas, and a paint brush or cotton balls to paint with. Simply tape the heart on the middle of your canvas, paint and then remove. I used clothes pins with a cotton ball attached to the end to paint. Wallah, that’s it!
I have to add, sometimes crafts do not come out Pinterest perfect!! Here are two other crafts we tried, but did not turn out as great as I had hoped… and that’s OK! My kids still enjoyed making them even if my cute little strawberry turned out like E.T.
Love it all!
Thank you!! I’ve been hard at work!!
