BEFORE- DISORGANIZED CHAOS

Have any of you noticed how organization has become so popular over the past few years? That’s because organization is contagious! Once you organize one aspect of your life, you will want to continue simplifying your life. From books, to shows, to retailers, and companies who specialize in organizing, I am seeing this trend everywhere and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon!
I am all about making things as simple as possible and one of the easiest ways to do that is by organizing your home and your belongings. By organizing your belongings you will save yourself time and money, you will be able to see what you have, the items you need, and what you can get rid of. Organizing gives everything a home so it is easier to find the next time you need something. You will spend less time cleaning and searching for items and can use that added time to focus on the things that are most important to you. You will also be more productive in your daily activities if you know where everything is. Clutter=stress! I don’t know how many times my kids wanted a certain pair of pants or that one pair of shoes and I couldn’t find them, by maintaining an organized house you will easily be able to find those desired items, which certainly reduces the stress for the entire household. The process of organizing is also mentally satisfying, the sorting and tossing will help clear your mind!
Have you ever had someone come over only to be embarrassed by the state of your home? By organizing your home, everything will have a place and it will be easier to maintain a clean house. You will spend less time speed cleaning before company comes over and no longer have those embarrassing moments when someone pops by.
You also set a great example for your kids. Being organized is a life skill, one of which most of us, myself included could use some improvement. By teaching your littles there is a place for everything at a young age, you will help them be organized in the future when it comes to school, jobs, or running a household of their own!
AFTER- THIS ORGANIZED CHAOS SIMPLIFIED MY BATHROOM

I recently teamed up with Trish Johnson, owner of This Organized Chaos LLC to organize and declutter my bathroom. Trish is a mom of 3 so she knows exactly what challenges us parents can face and has great tips to simplifying your families household. If you know me, you know I have two little girls and we all love to look our best which leads to a ton of makeup, hair tools, and accessories. We began the process by me taking photos of the space and sending Trish the measurements of the cabinets. She then recommended certain products to help contain the clutter. I gave her a budget for the products and she nailed it! She even recommended a DIY headband holder to help save money. Check out my Inexpensive & Fun Do It Yourself Headband Holder post to make your own!
On the day of the organization she first took everything out and we checked expiration dates, got rid of products I no longer used, and grouped items by category. Would you believe I was able to throw out an entire garbage bag of trash just from my bathroom! Now if that doesn’t make you feel good I don’t know what will. One thing I realized through this process is that if you cant see it, you will forget about it or not even know its there. For example, I had no idea we even owned medical tape, and still wouldn’t if we hadn’t emptied a box of gauze pads. One of the biggest tasks was containing all of our hair accessories, headbands, clips, bows, hair ties, scrunchies…. we have a lot! Insert the lazy susan and headband holder and both me and my girls can now easily find what we need without dumping the entire hair bin of hair stuff on the floor, which will greatly reduce the stress of getting ready in the mornings. If you are in the area I highly recommend checking out Trish at This Organized Chaos to help simplify your life. She also posts amazing tips and tricks on her Instagram to help organize your life.
